Iraqi Prime Minister Expects Saddam to be Executed

"Interim Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi said he expects ousted President Saddam Hussein to be sentenced to death for his crimes.

Saddam and his senior aides are to be tried by a special Iraqi tribunal on charges of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.

"We believe that Saddam's crimes are numerous and atrocious and as such he would be sentenced to death," in an interview with the Saudi daily al-Sharq al-Awsat, monitored in Beirut, Allawi said."
